Obs. Also 7 quiddanet, -onie, quidenie, 7–8 quiddeny, -ony, 8 quidony. [ad. obs. F. codignat, condoignac, etc. (mod.F. cotignac, It. cotognato) = med.L. codōniātum, var. of cydōniātum, f. L. cydōnia: see QUINCE, and cf. CODINIAC, COTINIATE, QUINDINIAC.] A thick fruit-syrup or jelly; orig. and properly, one made from quinces.
