Obs. Also chys(e. [ME. chīs, OE. cís fastidious, e.g., in eating. Of uncertain derivation: it is difficult to connect it with the root of céosan to choose, although the meaning favors this.] Fastidious, dainty as to eating; particular or nice in choosing; to be chosen; choice; fond. (The sense in ME. in some cases very uncertain.)
